A Concise History of Monks and Monastaries by Alfred Wishart. Mystic@Orthodox.com. http://Revelationinsight.tripod.com
"First Edition. Christian Monastic Series Vol. 1"

A Cultural History of the Native Peoples of Southern New England: Voices from Past and Present by Moondancer and Strong Woman. PO Box 4445. info@bauuinstitute.com. http://www.bauuinstitute.com/Publishing/NewEnglandNative.html
"Very few books on the history and culture of the southern New England Native peoples have been written by the Natives themselves. Standard academic books read like a clinical autopsy of a dead culture from many years ago. Contrary to this, A Cultural History of the Native Peoples of Southern New England provides an understanding of the ways, customs, and language of the southern New England American Indians from the Native's perspective. For the first time, a book written about the Native American peoples of southern New England is written by the Natives themselves. Incorporating voices of modern Elders and other Natives to the historic records of the 1500s and 1600s, everything about the beauty, power, and richness of their culture has been included. Sections of the book cover appearance, language, family and relations, religion, the body and senses, marriage, sickness, war, games, hunting, and much more. The proud and fiercely independent Native American peoples of southern New England once walked tall and proud on this land. With this book, they are now beginning to walk tall again. "

"This book focuses on life in the southern Appalachian coalfields through oral histories from coal miners, veterans, wives, doctors, Depression era individuals and others. The author takes you through an emotional, poignant journey into the hills of Appalachia letting each story teller, in their native dialect, tell of the coal miners labor movement, the violent struggle for unionization and long battle for black lung compensation - the closeness of the coal camp communities - background information on the music of the mountains (history of Bluegrass music) and throughout it all, the Spirit of the forgotten people of Appalachia shine through. "a must read, Penny Loeb, U.S. News and World Report Magazine" -- " A consistent theme throughout Appalachia: Spirit Triumphant is the coal companies blatant lack of respect for the environment and the people. I heartily recommend this book for those who have an interest in the coal mining legacy of West Virginia." Paul Wilson, Sierra Club. "

Black Colleges & Universities, Charcoals to Diamonds by Injay. P.O. Box 2614 Huntsville, AL 35804. injay@worldnet.att.net. www.sshread.com
"It was the 6th edition of The Self-Publishing Manual by Dan Poynter (that is now dog-eared) that was ultimately the road map to the production of Black Colleges and Universities, Charcoals to Diamonds (July 1999). The tireless effort took more than 10 years, due to several oppressing factors, the most crucial being losing my hard drive with less than 1 year to production. Although I had a backup of the manuscript, it would not restore. I was devastated. I think this devastation almost broke the author/publisher's back. I grieved for almost a year, before finally getting someone to scan the paper backup into an electronic format again. This process was still tedious because the software used to scan the paper, did not recognize the fonts, tabs etc. Extreme editing was necessary. When I was finally satisfied that the manuscript was ready for printing, I took bids from printers. WHEW! more bad news, where would I get the funds? By the time I came up with creative financing, some of the material was outdated and I had to get it updated before going to press. I met with the printer and discussed paper weights etc. and looked at samples of books that the company had done. The quality of the internal pages was good, but I was not giving a sample of the external paper that would be used. Consequently, I was dissatisfied with the cover for the first 1000 copies. I plan to change the paper stock on the second printing. Also, I will be sure to get a sample of the paper types in the future. I have also published one other book for another author and have two other authors due to sign contracts. Thanks Dan."

Different Visions of Love: Partnership and Dominator Values in Christian History by Brian Griffith. http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A2AU7EFI21JONP . pkbgriffith@yahoo.ca. http://outskirtspress.com/webpage.php?ISBN=9781432717599
"Griffith’s narrative moves like a searchlight over each phase of church history, illuminating the visions, options, and choices behind events. He traces the rise of a dominator version of Christianity, in which the primary concern was a chain of command to be followed, with rewards or punishments according to the degree of obedience. And beside this he illuminates another face of Christianity, concerned with healing all divisions between “loved and unloved” people. The story Griffith presents is often deeply disturbing, as in his unstinting accounts concerning “the gospel for women”, or the age of holy wars and witch hunts. But ultimately his story offers solid grounds for optimism. He shows that all contention between different religious visions can be a process of building partnership. As Griffith points out, Jesus himself wished to debate his opponents openly, not to silence or eliminate them. He was not afraid of real encounter, or the potential of creative conflict. — Riane Eisler author of The Chalice & the Blade, Sacred Pleasure, Tomorrow’s Children, and The Power of Partnership, The Real Wealth of Nations "

Don't Call Me Rosie, The Women who Welded the LSTs and the Men who Sailed on Them by Kathleen Thomas. Thomas/Wright, Inc., 7190 SW Fir Loop, Tigard, OR 97223. kthomas@thomaswright.com. http://www.thomaswright.com/LSTbookorder.htm
"In 1941, Winston Churchill realized that if the Allies were to win the war, a new type of ship needed to be designed and constructed. A ship that could land directly on the beaches of Africa and Europe and discharge troops and equipment. This ship became the Landing Ship, Tank or LST. But the United States was already at war and there was a shortage of men in the shipyards. It was the women that went to the shipyards and built the LSTs. These women were not riveters — they were welders. These are the stories, remembered 60 years later, of the women welders who built the LSTs and the men who sailed on them. "

Goddess and God : A Holy Tension in the First Christian Centuries by Valerie Abrahamsen . Shangri-La, 3 Coburn Hill Rd, Warren Center, PA 18851. shangrila@egypt.net. http://shangri-la.0catch.com/mpm/mpm10.html
"Have you ever wondered about the Virgin Mary? How does she relate to ancient goddesses? This books tells all! ISBN 0-9719496-3-8 Cloth Bound Price $39.95 US ISBN 0-9719496-4-6 Paperback Price $31.00 US REVIEW I am delighted that Valerie Abrahamsen's work is becoming available to students and scholars of early Christianity. Abrahamsen's archeological expertise and her training in Early Christianity enable her to do this creative interdisciplinary work. This book will give people a much fuller understanding of the importance of women's roles and Goddess imagery in the first Christian Centuries. Joanna Dewey, Ph.D. Academic Dean and Harvey H. Guthrie, Jr. Professor of Biblical Studies, Episcopal Divinity School THE AUTHOR Dr. Valerie Abrahamsen is a leading expert in the iconography of gender and feminism in early Christianity. This work results from many years of research in the field, displaying the author's broad and deep understanding. Dr. Abrahansen takes us on an academic quest to discover the prehistoric nature goddess roots of this faith, which is now so torn by the recent centuries of patriarchal dominance. She has led workshops in The Trials and Tribulations of Translating Scripture EDFEST 2002, Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, MA, May 2002 and Women and Pauls Letter to the Romans, Adult Education class, St. Johns Episcopal Church, Newtonville, MA, March 2001, to name a few. This is a timely and compelling study that the Roman Catholic Church should consider as they try to grasp the true nature of priesthood. Early on in Christianity, there were many alternatives to a male celibate priesthood. In this volume, Dr. Abrahamsen shows that vestiges of the prehistoric Nature goddess, worshipped by Neolithic and other peoples for millennia, survived into the Graeco-Roman period, under different guises, and influenced the development of Christianity. She argues that, while a male-dominated religious ethos supplanted goddess religion in the West starting with the Bronze Age, goddess beliefs and practices persisted underground and could not be completely suppressed or ignored. Her evidence is drawn from the existence of goddess symbols in the catacombs, other early church art, and basilica art from the early Byzantine era; from extant folklore and folk traditions; from magic and other quasi-religious practices evident in the early Christian tradition; and from certain rituals preserved by the church. Dr. Abrahamsen maintains that many women (and some men) in the early Christian era continued to revere a very powerful goddess who was equated with Nature and the earth and thus concerned with the sanctity of all of life, with right relationships between human beings (social justice), and with the inner harmony of each individual. Other books by Dr. Abrahamsen include: Women and Worship at Philippi: Diana/Artemis and Other Cults in the Early Christian Era. It's Just a Way of Life by Allison Weiss. 21544 Cascades Parkway, Sterling, VA 20164. aweiss@loudoun.gov.
"It’s Just a Way of Life is a collection of stories, memoirs, and predictions about the future of farming in Loudoun County, Virginia. With over eighty photos and ads from period newspapers, the book illustrates the story of the family farm and the people who worked to keep their farms sustainable through two world wars and the encroachment of commercial and residential development. Sometimes philosophical, sometimes practical, and sometimes humorous, the interviews allowed farmers to reflect on their contributions to Loudoun’s collective farming history. But for many, farming was not so much a conscience decision; it was a lifestyle that allowed the farmer the freedom of running his own business and the satisfaction of growing his own food. As said by Jim Brownell: “Most farmers farm. When we started farming we weren’t thinking, ‘Let’s get into farming. We could make a lot of money.’ Most farmers aren’t in it for the money. They farm until the money runs out. It’s just a way of life.” "

Junipero Serra, the Vatican, and Enslavement Theology by Daniel Fogel. ism press, P.O. Box 12447, San Francisco, CA 94112. books@ismpress.com. http://www.ismpress.com/junipero_serra.html
"Junipero Serra, a Catholic friar from Spain, founded missions among California Indians from San Diego to San Francisco in the late 1700's. Pope John Paul beatified Serra in 1988, moving him to within one step of sainthood. Franciscan priests promoting Serra toward sainthood praise him for spreading the Catholic gospel into California and saving thousands of Indian souls for God's kingdom in heaven. Fogel presents a critical biography of Junipero Serra, tracing the history of the Spanish mission system in California from 1769 through 1834. He focuses on the friars' cultural and psychological impact on the Indians they recruited to the missions. He also connects the controversy surrounding Serra with key issues dividing the Catholic church in both North and Latin America today: liberation theology, birth control and abortion rights, women's role in the church, and gay and lesbian rights. "The view presented in this book is broad in scope... It offers a devastating and detailed picture of the fate of the California Indians... [Fogel] contributes a detailed view of the life-style and customs of the California Indians under the rule of the Franciscans and the military forces that accompanied them." ISBN 0-9714683-6-2 Cloth Bound Price $39.50 US ISBN 0-9714683-7-0 Paperback Price $31.00 US REVIEWS An intriguing approach to a long-debated issue. - Dr. Aidan Dodson, Visiting Fellow in Archaeology, University of Bristol UK An excellent and well-written analysis that makes a valuable contribution to the study of Egyptian chronology and king-lists. Greenberg shows that Manetho originally had a highly accurate record of Egyptian chronology but that it was severely altered in the course of transmission. Of particular interest is his reconstruction of Manetho's original Twelfth Dynasty and Second Intermediate Period chronologies and his demonstration that Manetho's chronology paralleled that of the Turin Canon far more often than previously recognized. - Dr. Frank J. Yurco, Egyptologist, Chicago IL The Author Gary Greenberg is a leading expert in Near Eastern history and author of several well received studies: The Moses Mystery: The African Origins of the Jewish People, reprinted as The Bible Myth: The African Origins of the Jewish People, 101 Myths of the Bible: How Ancient Scribes Invented Biblical History, The Sins of King David: A New History. He now turns his private-eye-like investigation on the mysterious father of ancient Egyptian chronology and comes up with some amazing conclusions, with far reaching effect. "

""Matej's Journey to America" is a creative-nonfiction chronicle following a Czech family's five-millennium journey from biblical times to the Wild West of America. Matej was the author's great-great-grandfather who in 1871 immigrated from Moravia in today's Czech Republic to the four-year-old state of Nebraska. This just-published 500-page epic focuses on the forces of immigration--economic opportunity, religious freedom and warfare--and the technological developments that made the journeys of our ancestors possible. The book brings together notable historical events as they occur around the world and ties ancient issues to present-day conflicts. As the first book written by Donald F. Chmelka after retiring from an engineering and management career in the automotive and aerospace industries, it honors our immigrant ancestors who have often been lost in history. More information about the author and the book, including the first chapter, can be found at www.geocities.com/donchmelka/Matej.html "

ISBN:0-9723072-5-7, Lib. of Congress Control No.2003090455. After 5 intensive years in the making, it is one of the most talked about book in recent years of combat in the Pacific during WWII. It is a quality, 708-page, 8 1/2 by ll inch hardback book on glosssy paper with over 1,000 photographs (many published here for the first time, including some captured from the Japanese.)It will be a valuable contribution, a delight, and of great interest to historians, researchers, and military buffs...and a must for all Pacific War veterans and their families to read and keep as a history and memento, especially of the great battles of Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan and Tinian. Many say that it is the most interesting book on World War Two that they have ever read. The author, who has become a professional journalist, tells his remarkable story of going from Boot Camp to becoming a Browing Automatic Rifle (BAR) man with the famed Second Marine Division through those four major battles. The book is the only first-hand, personal account of these four campaigns (plus a short history of them.) It is an epic of guts and glory with the Marines in World War II. Stiring first-hand combat stories and accounts. Powerful and moving. It tells the story of what it was like. A great tribute to the Marine Corps with tales of heroism that will make every American proud. Nothing compares to it. An outstanding journalistic endeavor and a marvelous trip into history. The book has been highly acclaimed by numerous people, including Col. Gordon "Gordo" Cooper, one of the orginal 7 astronauts; Marine Captain Joe Foss, once our leading air ace in the war; and Buddy Ebsen, the actor and writer, who said that "OPEN FIRE" should be in every library and on everyones bookshelf. But the book is not all about combat. It contains many interesting stories of human interst, ranging from humorous and delightful to strange, even bizarre, plus bits of information that has been overlooked by historians or omitted from the records. There is also a section on American and Japanese weapons that will be of great interest to all gun collectors. The opening of the book starts with: "WE WERE JUST A BUNCH OF AMERICAN KIDS, MOSTLY TEENAGERS, LEAD BY SOME GOOD OFFICERS, WHO THOUGHT THAT WE COULD DO MOST ANYTHING-AND SOMEHOW, WE ALWAYS DID." Price is $49.95 plus $5.95 shipping and handling. "

Paradox of Professionalism: American Nurses in World War II by Marsha L. Burris. Charlotte, NC. ml_burris@yahoo.com.
"Book Description: During World War II, nursing leadership used their wartime contributions to advance their professional interests. Nursing leaders directed the rank and file nurses in a war whose commanders demanded excellence in terms of skills and abilities while perpetuating regulations that restricted much of the efforts of recruitment and performance. Ex service nurses returned to the civilian work force confident in their abilities and ready to confront the causes of unfair working conditions under which they worked before the war. In adhering to the nineteenth century model of the well disciplined, self sacrificing and dutiful caretaker, however, organized nursing was unable to break the century long traditions that placed it in an inferior position in medicine, thus the field of nursing improved their circumstances only in areas over which they controlled such as education and licensing. About the Author: Marsha Burris is an Adjunct Professor in History at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her fields of interest include Twentieth Century British History, Women’s Contributions to World War II, and Ancient and Medieval Medicine. "

South of the Khyber Pass by John Garrett. PO Box 248, Milan IN 47031. john@villamilan.com. www.villamilan.com
"In the aftermath of the September 11 attack on the United States John Garrett traveled to Tirah, that forbidden tribal land along the Pakistan-Afghan border, to finish his yearlong research for this historically based novel. It is the tale of Molly Ellis, the daughter of a British army commander, who was kidnapped by Afridi tribesmen from her home in what was then British India. She was held for ransom in the same mountains where Coalition forces searched for Osama bin Laden. The British credited her rescue to a medical missionary--a woman--who reportedly went alone into tribal territory to save her. Garrett learned there was much more to the story. "South of the Khyber Pass" is more than entertaining. It is an insight into Pakhtunwali, that Afghan tribal code built on the principals of hospitality and revenge. The Cow Spoke French: The Story of Sgt. William True, American Paratrooper in World War II by William True and Deryck Tufts True. Merriam Press, 218 Beech ST., Bennington VT 05201 USA. ray@merriam-press.com. http://www.merriam-press.com/memoir01/m_069.htm
"First edition published December 2002. The Cow Spoke French is a collaborative project. The two creators are Sergeant Wil-liam True, an American paratrooper who took part in all the battle campaigns of the 101st Airborne Division in Europe, and his eldest son Deryck, who served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. The thrust is to bring alive the human experience of the combat veteran in a way that is immediate and personal to the reader. Though the subject of World War II has been covered extensively in print over the last 50-odd years, the book is refreshingly unique in both approach and format. A traditional third-person narrative is cre-ated by the son, Deryck, based on extensive interviews with his father and other veter-ans, along with appropriate research of well-known historical sources. Original photo-graphs and custom maps are included. The story emphasizes the day-to-day reality of a combat soldier, which has often and cor-rectly been described as ‘long periods of boredom punctuated by moments of stark terror.’ There is no mask for the harsh fact of men killing one another. And while cou-rageous actions are depicted at length, hu-man failings are also a reality for men at war. This truth also is not avoided. Still the pathos, sentimentality, and even occasional humor of life for troopers in the field are very much a part of the chronicle, including ribald tales of cat-house misadventure. This book is neither for the squeamish nor the prude. The book is interspersed with personal accounts written by Bill True himself. Each account fits into the narrative chronologi-cally and by its nature, gives readers an in-timate connection to the story. We believe this approach will accomplish two things which are normally not possible for a single author. A soldier in the field has the real-life ‘in-your-face’ experience of combat. This will be vividly revealed in Bill’s writings. But individuals are almost always isolated on the battlefield, often begging news from the home front to dis-cover the big picture of which they play a vital part. The third-person narrative puts the soldier’s story into context within the broader military events and movements surrounding it. The title The Cow Spoke French derives from Bill True's jump into Normandy at 1:20 a.m. on June 6, 1944. Parachuting from his plane into France amid a hail of machine gun and anti-aircraft fire, Bill landed in a pasture next to a very placid and uncon-cerned Normandy cow. Grateful for having survived the jump, he spoke a friendly greeting to her, but received no response. Why not? Because the cow spoke French. With several appendices, numerous photos and maps. Hardcover, dust jacket, 8.5 x 11 inches, 180 pages. $34.95 postpaid."

"Author, William A. Cummins, is not a political expert but he brings the Korean War to life in three exciting segments of his new book, "THE FORGOTTEN.” THE FORGOTTEN FLAG begins with the Great Depression that produced the dirty faced PFC Marine, Luther R. Leguire, who raised the stars and stripes over the US Embassy in Seoul, Korea in 1950. A photograph of that event is on the cover of the book and Leguire’s life story from sharecropper to battlefield to pulpit is revealed in the book. THE FORGOTTEN WAR includes self-told stories by dozens of Korean War Veterans of their personal combat experiences no one has known or heard about until now. It was a vicious three year war lasting from 1950 to 1953 and continues today. Over one and a half million American recruits struggled side by side and 36,940 died, 92,134 were wounded, and 8,176 are MIA. "Jim Adams always had an interest in older homes and period architecture. When, in the 60s, he accidentally discovered many boarded-up "gems" in one of Boston's toughest districts, he bought a four-story brick row house. One of the few that thought Charlestown had a future, Jim became a pioneer in redevelopment and devoted thirty years to the restoration of many significant buildings. This included Paul Rever's favorite tavern, the General Warren Tavern which once again became a catalyst for the second rebirth of the Town. "What a place! You could have the president of Harvard at one end of the bar and Boston's best bank robbers at the other with everyone else in between." "

The LONGEST RAID of the Civil War: Little-Known & Untold Stories of Morgan's Raid into Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio by Lester V. Horwitz. Farmcourt Publishing, P.O. 42789, Cincinnati, OH 45242-0789. Horwitz@aol.com. www.LongestRaid.com
"Nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for History. The first complete chronicle of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan’s Great Raid into the North in July 1863. Morgan led 2,500 Rebel Cavalry into Union-held Kentucky on a perilous 1,000 journey. Pursued relentlessly by Federal cavalry, Army artillery battalions, U.S. Navy, and local militias, Morgan crossed the Ohio River (the Mason-Dixon Line) into Indiana. Like a thunderbolt, Morgan’s Raiders flashed across the North. For 24 days the pursuit continued until Morgan was captured just 70 miles south of Cleveland in Columbiana County. Edwin C. Bearss, Historian Emeritus said, “Horwitz takes the reader on one of the great adventures of the Civil War.” Dr. James Ramage, author of Rebel Raider said, “Outstanding! Reads like a novel.” The Civil War Courier said, “As a confirmed descendant of Morgan’s raiders, this reviewer was anxious to see what an Ohio Yankee would do with the raid story. Lester Horwitz is not only as fair as he can be to both sides, but he spins this yarn with humor, wit, and quite a talent for storytelling as well.” #1 Best-Selling book in the Tri-State (Cincinnati Enquirer). Available in hardcover ($35) and paperback ($30). "

The Madman & His Mistress - History in the Making by Roswitha (Ros) McIntosh. ros345@sbcglobal.net. http://www.MimiArt.com/book.html
"Courage, kindness and integrity were not dead during the Hitler years, but the price was high. I remember. I grew up under Hitler. Yet when a Fulbright scholarship brought me to this country, it was most painful to admit I was German. What was life like for the German people or His Mistress, as Hitler called her before he came to power? Few Americans can imagine. My book brought a flood of thank-you messages from Americans of German descent who also suffered of collective guilt. They were delighted that kindness and integrity did survive the onslaught of that Madman Hitler. Maybe we can learn from history and prevent similar tragedies from happening again. "

The Never Realized Republic: Political Economy and Republican Virtue by Peter Joseph O'Lalor . http://www.booksurge.com/product.php3?bookID=GPUB00492-00001. polalor@verizon.net. http://mysite.verizon.net/resq16ic/
"North Charleston, SC Sept. 14, 2005 -- WHAT are American Colleges teaching students about the causes and motivations of history? Scholarship, historiography, and historicity seem to be unimportant to the average reader. Old scholarship is given a new cover and touted as a best seller when fresh voices in the wilderness of American history....strain to be heard. In an age when university presses are diversifying, it seems, what is published, is what sells. Truly an unfortunate impact of capitalism upon republican virtue. Historical nonfiction is not an opinion. Peter O'Lalor, author of The Never Realized Repubic: Political Economy and Republican Virtue has revived the need to question authority. What is the duty and obligation of government? Do Presidents and other politicians serve the public good or the aspirations of their political affiliations? The Never Realized Republic is a new release detailing how and why the American Revolution was legitimate and grounded in an age-old duty of the sovereign. This duty and obligation of government was founded in the heritage of virtue and went back even before the Magna Carta. The Never Realized Republic: explains how and why the Federalists in the 1790's rejected the ancient heritage of their colonial ancestors and in the process of discarding republican virtue, pursued instead the expansion and domination of trade backed by an elite military. The Never Realized Republic: explains virtue, the desire to do good as a fundamental motivator of the Revolutionary generation. The Never Realized Republic: demonstrates the politicization of virtue in the 1790's and it finally answers: What happened to America's federal government in the 1790's, that altered the vision of the Revolution and its generation? "The Nobel Prize, as founded in Alfred Nobel's will, was the first truly international prize. There is no other award with the same global scope and mission. The Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, Peace, and the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences (from 1969) have not only captured the most significant contributions to the progress of mankind, they also constitute distinct markers of the major trends in their respective areas. The main reason for the prestige of the Prize today is, however, the lasting importance of the names on the list of Laureates and their contributions to human development. In celebration of the centennial of the Nobel Prize in 2001, this book offers a clear perspective on the development of human civilization over the past hundred years. The book serves to present the major trends and developments and also provide information about the life and philosophy of Alfred Nobel, the history of the Nobel Foundation, and the procedure for nominating and selecting Nobel Laureates. The PC Revolution, an Anarchist’s Journal by Dick Brown. American World, 245 Egret Run Lane, #1012, Pawleys Island, SC 29585. admin@amerwld.com. www.amerwld.com
"This new book traces the growth of the PC industry and is written by a key participant. It reveals why the minicomputer companies failed and traces the lethal mistakes made by their senior executives. It also depicts the turbulent successes and stunning failures as the winners and losers change places - along with analysis of their attainments and debacles – including details previously only known to insiders. The book adds fascinating, in-depth profiles of the most colorful people of their era, including humorous anecdotes. The author, Dick Brown, knew all these revolutionaries well. Dick was the founder of the Computer Store, one of the first computer retail operations. He was a major “player” and one of the “25 most influential people in the PC industry”. Dick spent his entire corporate life “growing with computers” – from the vacuum tube behemoths to PC’s and computers-on-a-chip. In his career, he also worked both with/for Data General, DEC and the Interface Group (COMDEX). This is a fascinating expose of the “PC Revolution”, the participating companies and the “real humans” that created and molded that insurrection. "

They experience how the region is colonized. They learn about export of cocoa over 50% of world’s supply as well as timber, gold and diamond exports to Europe. Thus, Garriguesz family traces activities in the region for many centuries, ending in 1950s, with the Independence of Ghana and the aftermath. The countries have remained poor despite their enormous wealth why? Is it because of ineffective managements by their Governments and superstition? WE LEARN TO LIVE The book is about people, places and changes shifting from the past to the present. The book seeks for some centre of meaning in life. It presents to everyone about what happened to people of the world centuries ago; the configuration of people, their understanding and the role of each individual person on Earth. "

"Today’s pace of change has reached unprecedented levels only seen in times of war. As a result, project management has changed accordingly with the pressure to deliver and make things count quickly. This DVD looks back at a period of incredible change and mines lessons for Project Managers today. In May 1940, the United Kingdom (UK) was facing a dire situation, an imminent invasion. As the evacuation of Dunkirk unfolded, the scale of the disaster became apparent. The army abandoned 90% of its equipment, the RAF fighter losses were deplorable, and over 200 ships were lost. Winston Churchill, one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, was swept into power. With depleted forces and no organized defense, the situation required a near miracle. Churchill had to mobilize quickly and act with agility to assemble a defense. He had to make the right investment choices, deploy resources, and deliver a complete project in a fraction of the time. This video looks at Churchill as an agile Project Manger, turning a disastrous situation into an unexpected victory. "
